Hi friends! Dani from PopFizzPaper here and today I'm sharing a photo card tutorial with you! This week is Inspirational Women's Week! So of course I chose the #1 woman in my life: my mom. I haven't sent her a card in a while, so I decided to create a photo card featuring our selfies to make it extra special! It's in a tri-fold style so that if she wants to prop it open on her desk, it'll be more sturdy and she'll get to see more than one photo at a time. To see how I made this card, keep reading!
Here are the supplies I'm using for this project:
~ 8.5"x11" sheet of plain white cardstock
~ Printed photos
~ Random washi and stickers from my stash
To get started, I cut down my 8.5"x11" sheet of cardstock down to 5.25"x11". I then folded the sheet into thirds to make my card base. I took some of the Slay It Girl papers and cut those down to 5"x3.5" to make my panels. I wound up using 6 panels, but I cut an extra so I could play around with pattern combinations.
Using the adhesive runner, I attached my panels to the each section of the card. I tried to lay them out so that when the card was opened in various ways, the patterns showing looked nice to each other. At this point I also cut down my photos to look like they were printed in an Instax style, then mounted them on the journaling cards.
Once I decided which photos I wanted on each particular panel, I glued them down with the same adhesive runner. I added bits of washi and some stickers for a more layered effect. I left the center interior panel blank so I could write my mom a note there.
After my pictures, washi, and stickers were placed where I wanted them, it was time to bling things up! I started with some pastel sparkle rhinestones that were included in the
Spooky Pastel Add-On Kit. At this point, I also pulled out some sequins that I wanted to use from the potion mixes. I know I say this every time, but I love how Serena designs her collections so that they all can work together. The potion mixes and rhinestones were from months ago, but they go perfectly with the March
Slay It Girl release!
Here you can see the finished card! On the left is the front panel of the card, and on the right is the last panel you see when you open it up. I added a ton of bling to really make the card sparkle!
In this photo, the interior side of the front of the card is on the left, and on the right is the panel that you see as soon as you open the card. I love how everything ties together, and I really think my mom is going to love it!
And that's it for today's blog post! If you were to make a card for an inspiring woman, who would
you choose and why? Let me know down below! Also tag and
