For this week's Papercakes Design Team’s theme “A blast from the past” I chose to use the Love Bitesand Black Heartscollections! It has a wonderful collection of pinks, teals and lavender tones. I wanted to make a set of various cards with a beautiful swan accent.
I used my Silhouette Cameo and it’s print and cut feature. The embellishments from the Love Bites collectionto sprinkle around the swan cut out I made with the black and white heart print. The swan cut file is #181480 by Echo Park from the Silhouette Design store. I show the entire creating process on my youtube channel “amadoreros” from start to finish! Watch Below!
I accented the Swan with gold foil on the beak and crown for a little touch shine. I layered some sewn ruffled crepe paper that I put together on my sewing machine. I also layered several prints that I cut out with stitched rectangle dies from Lil Inker. I printed all of my prints in 4.25”x5.5” so I could layer it in any way I liked.
I used Lavender, Pink and Teal crepe paper to accent the collection. I also sprinkled several hearts from the collection throughout the cards. Most of the accents are layered with dimensional mounting foam. This also allows the ruffled crepe paper to show off more.
All of the cards have a black heavyweight cardstock base. The Lil Inker stitched dies give the layers a little special touch.
