Hello everyone! Annie here with a design team project for Papercakes. This week on the blog, we're focusing on spring and all the loveliness it has to offer.

For my project this week, I am making a conscious effort to use up my scraps and use only what I have in my stash. So I thought it was perfect to use the Slay It Girl collection and the Black Hearts paper collection to make a cute spring-themed planner dashboard. This project is very simple but makes a really pretty statement in your planner.

So let's get started:

What I used:

·         Slay It Girl paper collection

·         Black Heart paper collection

·         6x8 Sn@p Insta-pocket page with 12 2x2" squares

·         Spring themed chipboard stickers

·         Heart, scallop, & bow punch

·         Paper heart doily

·         Sequins, washi, & ric rac

·         Fuse tool, sewing machine, or permanent tacky tape

To start, I cut 6 pieces of paper down to 2x2" and placed them in the corresponding pocket sleeves. I used only scraps for this.

Since I was trying to use up things that I had, I used some spring themed chipboard glitter stickers from the dollar spot at Target. I placed these on top of the plastic photo sleeve.

I used a heart punch to make hearts for the top right square. I didn't like the hearts moving around, so I used a small amount of permanent tape runner on the back of the hearts to hold them in place inside the pocket.

Next I began, to decorate the squares. I was very minimalistic with this, since I really like the patterns the way they are. But I did add a paper doily to two of the squares, which gave it a feminine touch. I used up more of my scraps to make a layered page flag banner and adhered them with my tiny attacher. I also used a scallop punch, cut in half, and a black bow to add to the middle square. I used a clear Wink of Stella glitter pen to add some shimmer.

Then, I lined the edge with blue glitter tape (front and back) and punched my holes for my ring bound planner. I added some white ric rac to the left edge for some added interest. I adhered this with Tombow Xtreme permanent adhesive because I feel that I holds the best on glitter tape and once set, it will not budge.

I added a small amount of white chunky glitter and black sequins to the top right pocket and closed it with my fuse tool.
