Hello everyone! Annie here with another design team project for Papercakes. This week on the blog, we're highlighting inspirational women in our projects. So many to choose from, I know, but I was able to narrow it down to one of my favorites, J.K. Rowling; author of the Harry Potter series and boss babe extraordinaire.
I chose to use the Slay It Girl collection to make an inspirational quote tag flip. I think it will be something to sit on my desk, and look through occasionally to inspire and motivate me when I'm trying to create.
So let's get started on this very simple project:
What I used:
· Slay It Girl paper collection & cards
· Black Heart paper collection
· Black and pink cardstock
· Metal binder ring
· Gelly roll gel pens
· Washi & ribbon
· Single hole punch
I cut 4 large tags - my dimensions were 5 1/2" x 3 1/2".
I used a 1" circle punch to punch out 4 black circles that I glued to the tops of the tags, to make a hole reinforcer and I used a hole punch to punch out the center of the circles.
Next, I used a white gel pen to write out my selected quotes on black cardstock.
Then I created layers with the patterned papers from the collections and the quotes that I had handwritten. I used washi, enamel dots, tiny staples, and color shine to add interest.
Lastly, I attached all of the tags with the binder ring and added decorative ribbon.
And that's it! A very simple project that I can use to inspire me. And I love the idea that I can add more quotes to the binder ring as I choose.
I hope that you liked my project and hope that this inspires you to create. Have a great day, everyone!
