Hello everyone! Annie here with a design team project for Papercakes. This week on the blog, we're thinking spring. So as the weather gets warmer, we can look forward to beautiful flowers and sunshine - and I have to say that I am so looking forward to it this year.
For my project this week, I chose to use the Slay It Girl collection and the Black Heart paper collection to add a fun twist on a traditional spring/Easter style mini pocket letter.
So let's get started:
What I used:
· Slay It Girl paper collection
· Black Heart paper collection
· Black and pink cardstock
· Pink and white crepe paper
· Flower die & paperclip
· Washi, twine, sequins, & adhesive
· Tiny attacher
· Baseball card sleeve cut into 1 - 3 paneled strip
To start, I cut 6 pieces of paper down to 2 1/2" x 3 1/2" and placed them in the sleeves.
Next, I typed out some spring sentiments on my typewriter and backed them with pink cardstock, so they'd stand out against the patterned papers.
I began making some embellishments that I could add to the cards. I folded some crepe paper and made 2 mini rosettes. I attached a bunny shape that I cut from a black hearts paper and an egg sticker on the other. On that egg, I glued mini black hearts that I made with my Fiskars mini punch.
I also painted a bunny wood veneer ornament white to match the theme. I used my flower die to make a flower paperclip (as explained in my previous posts).
To make a large egg embellishment, I used an egg-shaped tag (from a recent Target purchase) that I used as a pattern.
I cut out two eggs on patterned paper and cut one of the eggs in half, at a slight angle. I adhered the half piece to the whole egg and added a patterned heart. I then used Tombow mono removable adhesive to adhere it to the card so the recipient could reuse the embellishment.
Then I just started decorating the cards and included my embellishments. I used washi to line the edge of the pocket letter. I also cut banners and used various punches with the patterned paper from both collections to add to the cards, along with the sentiments.
For my pocket letters, I decorate both the front and back. I also included a small sequin mix in a mini clear bag.
When I was finished, I folded the pocket letter up and secured it with black & white twine.
So that's it! Pretty quick and easy.
I hope that you liked my project share and hope that you all have a wonderful day. Thanks for reading & crafting along!
