Happy Holidays! My name is Taylor and I am so honored to be working with Papercakes! Today, I am so excited to share this adorable little flip-bag that I made with you! I don’t normally do altered projects like this but I was so inspired to use the new Papercakes Christmas goodies! Christmas is by far the most wonderful, and my favorite time of the year so I’ve been super excited for all the Christmas crafts.
For my first Christmas project of the year I started with just a plain, brown paper lunch sack and folded it flat. This made a front pocket and a larger pocket in the back that I can fill with goodies. I had this little bag hiding in my kitchen but you can also buy cute pastel colored ones.
Then I started the decorating process by adhering some of the Creepy Xmas papers to the bag with my glue runner. I added some glitter washi tape and a label I had left over from the Papercakes Spooky Pastel collection (that I used in October). The pastel colors are super versatile and can be used pretty much year-round (especially if you’re a fan of creepy-cute).
On the bottom pocket I used some black and white crepe ribbon to make a fringe edge. Then, I layered a cupcake liner embellishment on top. I learned how to make these adorable embellishments from THIS video By Serena Bee.
My favorite part of this project was making the tags! I think they all turned out so cute. I used the tags that came in the Spooky Pastel collection but I also cut down a journaling card from the Snow Day collection. On the back of each tag I just added an inspirational sticker.
I also needed to make some larger tags for the larger pocket in the back. I scaled up a tag on my computer, printed it out, and mounted it on some light weight chipboard. This makes the tag more sturdy and adds a more professional touch.
I think layering the ribbon on each tags adds so much texture and magic. Don’t be scared to experiment with different ribbons.
On the back I layered cardstock and a GIANT adorable snowman (he’s on the Snow Day element sheet but his hat is from Creepy Xmas). I added some glitter washi-tape and threw a few sequins on there just to be safe lol. This little snowman brings me so much happiness!
As a whole I think it turned out pretty cute! Purple isn’t your normal “Christmas” color but it looks so soft and just works so perfectly! I plan on sending this little guy to a friend for Christmas (packed with other goodies). I hope she enjoys it! You can also check out an in depth video of this cutie on my YouTube video below!
